Dean Manor
Artist in Residence

The residency at Dean hosts artists from all creative backgrounds. Located in the heart of the Cotswolds this retreat offers creatives the opportunity to explore and evolve their practise in a peaceful and bucolic setting away from the rigours of their normal routine. The particular beauty of the surrounding landscapes offers a further stimulus for creativity and learning.

The residency privileges artists whose work has a connection with the natural world and encourages them to find inspiration within the garden and the surrounding countryside whilst living and working there
Kaori Tatebayashi
Kaori Tatebayashi (b. 1972) is a Japanese ceramicist, living and working in London for the last 20 years.Japanese ceramicist Kaori Tatebayashi is the first artist to take part in Dean Manor’s residency programme in the heart of the Cotswolds. Kaori spent June last year living in one of the Estate cottages responding to the glorious gardens that surround the house. The works were fired on site and last week she opened an exhibition in the Barn show casing the work she had made during her stay as a small ‘studio installation’. This exquisite offering has appealed to art world professionals, collectors and locals alike as Dean Manor has experienced a myriad of visitors admiring her work as well as the gardens of the house
